GRAND LANGE 1 is unveiled in a new size and connotation, showing a truly extraordinary character. The newly developed movement not only gives the large members of the LANGE 1 series a well-balanced dial layout, but also makes the watch lines more delicate and beautiful.
Since its introduction in 1994, the LANGE 1 has become a classic watch from Lange. This timepiece combines traditional Saxony watchmaking techniques such as 3/4 splint, screw-set gold sleeve and screw balance, as well as innovative elements such as eccentric dial design and large Lange calendar display, and enjoys an international reputation. The LANGE 1 watch soon won many awards in the field of fine mechanical watchmaking and wrote a glorious chapter in the history of horology. In addition, the LANGE 1 watch is a symbol of the superb craftsmanship of the Lange watchmakers, reflecting their relentless pursuit of creating the perfect watch. In the eighteen years since its launch, LANGE 1 has not only become an important cornerstone of the famous watch series, but also set the benchmark for countless creations by watchmakers.
After the size of the movement has been enlarged, the number of components that can be arranged at the same level has increased, resulting in a movement thickness of only 4.7 mm. To save space, the watch’s 72-hour power reserve is driven only by a single barrel, which reduces the size of the watch accordingly. Its gold, rose or platinum case has a diameter of 40.9 millimeters and a thickness of only 8.8 millimeters, showing the elegant proportions of width and thickness.
Refined and inlaid with a Manufacture Sapphire movement, it is adorned with a sapphire crystal case back. Made of untreated German silver and decorated with a 3/4 plywood engraved with Glashütte circular patterns, ensuring stable movement. The delicate curved notch presents a balance of 21,600 vibrations per hour, as well as hand-carved balance splints. Lange’s patented balance spring ensures extremely precise speed. Seven screws fix the gold sleeve and carry the artificial ruby bearing, which greatly improves the visual effect of the surface of the board.
