Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Montblanc TimeWalker series
Montblanc launched the Montblanc TimeWalker series for the first time in 2004, introducing members of the new watch family and defining new design concepts. Its highlights include architectural lines, 43 mm case, extremely narrow bezel, elegant cutout lugs, flat dials, The clear and easy-to-read special Arabic numerals and unique willow-shaped hands, and its innovative shape make this series a warm response in the ten years after its launch. The strong masculine flavor combined with the sports elegant style makes the Montblanc TimeWalker series the best-selling wrist Table series one. Ten years after the launch of the Montblanc TimeWalker series, Montblanc is proud to present the Montblanc TimeWalker Extreme Chronograph DLC to celebrate the second decade of the Montblanc TimeWalker series.
The color of the diamond-like carbon coating is called ‘Black 4’, which means ‘extremely black.’ Since it is almost impossible to make a deeper black than ‘Black 4’, ‘DLC’ (abbreviation of ‘Diamond-like Carbon’ material) can be said to represent the limit of the surface hardness of the stainless steel case. The small glass ball blasting operation is performed under high pressure, so that the surface of the stainless steel has a microstructure. In this way, the diamond-like carbon coating can be adhered to it almost without falling off, and a highly textured surface is formed on the surface. Matte layer. Other stainless steel parts are treated in the same way, such as: easy-to-operate crown, timing button, charm night black fork-type pin buckle, and suspended bottom cover with sapphire crystal. The automatic mechanical movement MB4810 / 507 can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back. The movement combined with the chronograph function is completely made in accordance with Swiss watchmaking technology. The vibration frequency reaches 28,800 times per hour (4 Hz). The second hand can accurately measure time to 1/8 second.
The new TimeWalker chronograph dial uses the same black tone as the case, and is carefully crafted by well-known dial makers in the professional watch industry, exuding the unique art of high-end dials (cadraniers). The various display functions on the dial are designed at different levels. The middle layer includes the center and periphery of the dial and is embossed with a circular pattern. The periphery of the dial is engraved with the seconds scale used by the slender chronograph seconds hand, and each scale is further subdivided into four clear and easily recognizable small scales, representing 1/4 second to match the frequency of the movement’s 4 Hz. There are three small dials on the dial, one of which is the uninterrupted hour and second hand, and the other two are the chronograph dial, which are located at six o’clock, nine o’clock, and twelve o’clock. The hour scale ring located above the middle layer is treated with a black matte surface without any decoration. The scale ring has super luminous numerals. The numerals adopt the patented TimeWalker font and are equipped with clear and easy-to-read double hands. In the function of time measurement, the simple design allows the wearer to see at a glance, the coal gray ruthenium-plated hands and the background color of Charm Night Black are in sharp contrast, which is more visually prominent. The five hands are in a typical willow-shaped design and coated with super luminous paint; the top of the balanced chronograph second hand is red. The date display window at 4:30 shows the current date. The white numbers in the TimeWalker font are even more eye-catching against the black background.
Innovative watch materials
Montblanc upholds the value of traditional craftsmanship, follows the watchmaking principles of Swiss haute horlogerie, and is committed to the pursuit of revolutionary technology and concepts. The pursuit of performance and innovation is not only reflected in the unprecedented development of the world of watchmaking, but also in the use of new materials.
The black body of Montblanc TimeWalker Series Extreme Chronograph DLC uses impressive technology and exudes sporty elegance. It is impressive. The material combination of the strap and the complexity of the process are more worthy of attention. The inner layer of the strap is black ‘vulcarboné (High-tech vulcanized rubber) ‘to make the strap more strong and elastic.
Anti-fracture strands commensurate with the tone of the leather are used to sew cowhide (cowhide) on the upper surface of the rubber. The time-consuming and laborious process adds texture to the leather; special processing methods fuse the leather, not just the bag. A layer of leather can increase its structural strength-innovative leather processing creates high-performance materials with special protective properties, providing additional anti-wear protection and waterproof and fire protection for leather. This material will be used in the components of various Montblanc products, which further proves that the complexity and innovation and performance requirements of Montblanc watches are not limited to the movement, but also include various parts, such as straps, case structures and dials. This watch is more carefully selected like the other stainless steel components. It is a black stainless steel pin buckle treated with micro-bead blasting and covered with a layer of ‘black 4’ diamond carbon. It is matched with its high-tech watch strap.
The new Montblanc TimeWalker Series Extreme Chronograph DLC is expected to be available in the fall of 2014.
