On January 29, 2019, the 34th Paris International Automobile Festival was held in Les Invalides, with Girard-Perregaux as the main partner. The annual awards celebrating the best achievements in automotive design kicked off the festival.
The official Grand Prix awards ceremony on January 29 brought together more than 600 celebrities from the automotive and art world. GP Girard-Perregaux CEO Patrick Pruniaux was present and was fortunate to present a special jury prize to BMW Group Vice President Design Adrian Van Hooydonk.
Girard Perregaux, relying on its expertise in the field of chronograph manufacturing, participates in large-scale events and maintains a close relationship with the racing world. Chronographs have always played an important role in motorsport. It is used by riders to measure split time or two events at the same start and different end.
Known as ‘Auto Design Fashion Week’, the International Automobile Festival is a unique exhibition of concept cars, presenting truly creative masterpieces. From January 31 to February 3, 2019, the public can visit the 3,000-square-meter transparent building under the Vauban Square under the dome church of Les Invalides, and discover the most beautiful concept car of the year. Under the auspices of architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, manufacturers and designers came to exhibit their work. Visitors can also discover the world of Girard Perregaux, and the brand is pleased to exhibit outstanding historical timepieces and museum collections, commemorating a long history dating back to 1791.
